About Me
I am a school psychologist with over 24 years of experience currently serving as a lead school psychologist and a high school psychologist in a school district in Northern Virginia. I am also a master PREPaRE Trainer and have presented nationally and published a number of articles and book chapters on PREPaRE, school safety, suicide prevention, and mental health in the schools.
Early in my career I was thrust into a crisis situation which began my journey to understand how to manage, respond, and help schools recovery from such incidents. As the years progressed I gained valuable experience responding to numerous crises that impacted schools and eventually became a crisis team leader. Then ultimately becoming responsible for the management and coordination of my district’s central crisis intervention teams. At the same time, I have been incredibly blessed to serve on the National Association of School Psychologists School Safety and Crisis Response Committee which as allowed me to gain more experience and gain a broader perspective on school safety and crisis response.
